What is egg donation?
Egg Donation is a procedure in which eggs are taken from a potentially fertile woman and given to a recipient who is not able to have children on her own due to a problem with the recipient’s eggs or because she has no ovaries. This procedure was first performed in 1983 and thousands of egg donation procedures are performed annually now.

Who is the ideal egg donor?
- An egg donor candidate is a woman who exhibits the emotional stability necessary to complete the egg donor procedure, and of her own free will decides to donate her eggs to the recipient.
- The ideal egg donor is a healthy female between the ages of 21-30. While not mandatory, it is preferable that the candidate has had at least one healthy pregnancy prior to donation.
- A donor candidate must have a valid Social Security Number.
- A donor candidate must complete and return an application and be open to further screening.
